"Not worth the price to me"
The color was fine, but I wasn’t really impressed. I’m probably a bit picky about getting good value for my money, and for the price, the results felt way too small. I just expected more.

I’ve ordered from ESalon a handful of times now, one of the things I appreciate most is that the shipping has been super consistent. The boxes show up when they’re supposed to, and I haven’t had to deal with any of that annoying tracking-refreshing or wondering where my package disappeared to. It just arrives on schedule, which makes a big difference when I’m trying to plan out when I’m going to color my hair. It’s nice to know I can actually count on it getting here without any hassle

"Sloppy packaging and useless instructions"
The packaging was pathetic. The bottle had leaked a little inside the box, and everything looked like it had just been shoved in by someone who couldn’t be bothered. Even some of the labels were hard to read, which made the whole thing feel cheap and sloppy.
The instructions were just as bad. I kept having to look up videos online for basic steps that should’ve been obvious from the start. If you need a scavenger hunt just to use the product, that’s not clever, it’s just annoying. Definitely not worth the hassle

"Pretty close match, but I’m still side-eyeing it a little"
I tried eSalon because I was getting tired of box dye making my roots look a little too obvious. The color they sent was actually close to my usual shade, which surprised me because I was expecting it to be off somehow. It did come out just a tiny bit warmer than I thought it would, so I’m still a little suspicious, but it blended nicely and didn’t look patchy. I’ll probably tweak it next time, but overall I’m happy with how it turned out.

"Easy to pause, but waiting is annoying"
I do like that managing my esalon subscription is straightforward. I had extra color left, so I paused my subscription and changed my delivery date without any hassle, which was a relief. No weird runaround or confusing steps. The only thing is, I get a little frustrated waiting when I actually need my next order, but overall it’s been easy to manage

"The color itself was okay, like..."
The color itself was okay, like not amazing but not terrible either. I could’ve lived with it, honestly. The frustrating part was trying to get help. I emailed customer service and then just waited… and waited. Like checking my inbox in the morning, checking again after work, checking the next day, checking spam just in case, all of that. When they finally replied a few days later, the answer felt really generic, almost like they copied and pasted it. It didn’t really address what I asked, didn’t give me clear next steps, and didn’t make me feel like anyone actually looked at my situation. For something as personal as color, where you’re trying to figure out if it’s too warm, too dark, too flat, too whatever, I expected quicker and more helpful support. Not the worst experience ever, but definitely annoying...

"I did everything they asked — filled out..."
I did everything they asked, filled out the whole questionnaire, sent in photos, the works, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable that I expected the color to be at least somewhat close. I asked for a soft brown, but what I got was this super dark, almost black shade. It looked really flat and way too harsh on me. When I reached out, customer service kept saying it was “custom,” but it didn’t feel personalized at all. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it felt like a waste of money, and now I’m stuck having to fix my hair.

I wasn’t totally sure which shade to go with, but the colorist gave me good advice and, yeah, it actually made a difference. The color came out right, which is all I was hoping for.

"Color was nice, but my hair felt off"
The color turned out nice, so I was happy with that part. But after washing it out, my hair just felt kind of dry and not quite right. I can’t really explain it, but I definitely noticed the difference and didn’t love how it felt.

"I finally tried eSalon after thinking about..."
I finally tried eSalon after thinking about it for a while, mostly because I liked the idea of having something a little more customized than the usual box dye. The kit was put together nicely, and I’ll give them credit because the instructions were really clear and easy to follow.
I spent the most time worrying about the front of my hair and around my temples, since that’s where my grays are the most obvious. The color itself looked nice overall, and the process wasn’t messy or confusing, but I did notice it didn’t fully cover every gray hair the way I was hoping.
After about two weeks, a few silver strands were already showing again, especially near the front. It wasn’t a total disappointment, but for the price, I expected it to last a little better. I might give it one more try and see if an adjustment helps

I was a little unsure if I was doing it right at first, but the color was actually simple to apply. The instructions made sense, at least I think I followed them correctly, and everything in the box was laid out in a way that didn’t feel confusing.
It did take me longer than I thought it would, especially trying to get the back of my head without making a mess. I kept second-guessing whether I missed spots, but the color ended up looking even, so I’m happy with it.
